After strumming around on a six string guitar for his own amusement, in the 70’s he became the rhythm guitarist for many years in a local folk/rock band, performing at many festivals including Sidmouth. As a keen lighting and soundman, Jon moved away from the guitar to become sound engineer for a semi-professional folk band based in Colchester. After many years of gigging, the band finally hung up their instruments so Jon, Dave (guitar) Mark (melodeon) and Jon’s son Jez (drums) formed Most Unexpected. As Dave was going to be playing guitar, Jon found himself having to learn bass especially for the band! Luckily this was not a problem for an already accomplished musician.
In his spare time Jon is a founder member and Melodeon player for Crouch Vale Clog Morris (A mixed North West Clog dance side) and travels to festivals and local pubs to perform and drink Crouch Vale Brewers Gold. |
